We are delighted to inform you about this week's upcoming Cumann na mBunscol opening fixtures. It has been over two and a half years since our students, or any students, have had the opportunity to represent their school in this competition. The children have been excellent in training and have really enjoyed getting back to having fun and working on their skills and they are really looking forward to the next few weeks.
Due to huge subscription from our 5th and 6th class girls, we have entered three teams for the first time this year, two girls' teams and one boys' team. This will allow for girls to get as much game time as possible - particularly girls in their final year of 6th class - while also helping to provide 5th class with competitive experience.
Our girls' teams will consist of one all-6th-class team and a mixed 5th and 6th team.
This week there are two fixtures:
Wednesday 9th: 6th Girls HOME vs. St. Brigid's Cabinteely in DARTRY PARK @ 3:15pm
Thursday 10th: Boys team AWAY vs. St. Patrick's BNS Ringsend in CLANNA GAEL Ringsend @ 2:30pm
All support is welcome and we would encourage all parents to provide encouragement from the sideline with the level of respect for players, coaches and officials that has been displayed in the past. Remember that the players are children, the coaches are volunteers and the referees are human!
Players should wear tracksuits in on the day of games and bring in:
Socks and shorts
Gumshields
Football Boots
T-Shirt/Underarmour to wear underneath jersey
Bottle of water
GIRLS Parents are asked to arrange to have your children collected from Dartry Park @ 4pm.
BOYS bus will arrive back to Mt. Eden School Campus @ 4pm.
