The children in Ms. O'Gara's class created wonderful posters to enter in the Green Schools annual poster competition. The theme for this year's competition is 'Local Water Actions for Global Change'. In preparation for creating our posters, we discussed the fact that our actions locally affect people all over the world. We explored the powerful picture book 'The Water Princess' in which Gie Gie walks for hours every day to collect water in Burkina Faso. We brainstormed ways that we can conserve water at home and in school, as it is a precious resource. The children created fabulous, meaningful posters. Well done boys and girls!
