Cycle to School Week 2023
We celebrated National Cycle to School Week from 13-21st May. From early in the week the number of cyclists was higher than usual with a total of 313 cyclists on National COW Day (Cycle on Wednesday) – 17th May 2023. What an amazing achievement! The bike sheds were packed to the brim with some serious parking congestion alleviated by wonderful helpers rearranged and re-parked bikes and scooters, as necessary.
We hope everyone enjoyed cycling to school and had a chance to try out the Obstacle Course set up by Mr Molloy in the Basketball Court area and to show off their cycling skills. Some scooter(ists) also enjoyed the obstacle course!
Greenschools.org provided plenty of online resources for the children during the week including bike checklists, educational videos, and route mapping activities.
Bike Week is a celebration of active travel, sustainable transport and simply the joys of cycling a bike! A huge well done to all the cyclists who made the effort during the week.
