Celebrating Walk To School Week With A Trip to Herbert Park! 🚶🚶🚶
On Thursday, 5th October our 5th class celebrated Walk to School Week with a walking trip to Herbert Park, all while wearing odd socks for fun! We left the school and walked all the way to the park and back, which took us about 45 minutes. It was a beautiful day, and we all enjoyed getting some exercise and fresh air in our fun socks.
Once we arrived at the park, we had a chance to explore the park and see all the different animals and plants. We saw squirrels running up the trees, and all sorts of different flowers and birds.
After our exploration, we walked back to school. We were all a bit tired, but we had a lot of fun. We learned a lot about the importance of walking and staying active, and we also had a chance to bond with our classmates and teachers while showing off our odd socks.
Here are some of the things that our students said about the walking trip:
- "I really enjoyed the walking trip. It was fun to get outside and walk with my friends in my odd socks." Will
- "I learned a lot about the importance of walking and staying active."Naomi
- "I was surprised at how many different trees and plants there were in Herbert Park." Jeanie
- "I'm glad that we got to do this walking trip. It was a lot of fun." Alana
