As part of our theme of houses and homes in January, we made our own birdhouses/feeders. We developed and stimulated our critical thinking and creativity by brainstorming how we could make them and what materials to use. We decided that cardboard milk cartons would work best for us. Thanks to all the families who brought milk cartons to school!
The children worked collaboratively to paint their cartons. When they were dry, Ms. Lynch cut out some holes in them and we added some sticks to the feeders for the birds to sit on and placed some chopped fruit inside. We hung them outside and were delighted to hear that an hour later we had some robins visit our bird feeders!
