Club Dúlra conducted a site survey to map out current habitats on the school grounds. This will help the school to put plans in place to build new habitats and further improve our dedication to biodiversity at St. Mary’s.
The children broke into two groups and walked the grounds making notes of buildings, car-parking, playing spaces but also noted colder or shaded areas as well as existing trees, hedges, overgrown spaces, ivy, birds who visit our grounds and anything that we have already put in place to help biodiversity.
We will create an updated map of what we noted and will further add to this as we increase habitats on the school grounds.
