6th Class Growth Mindset Projects: Transforming Our Thinking
12th Sep 2023
Over the past two weeks, Ms. Flood's 6th class delved into the concept of mindset, contrasting fixed and growth mindsets. Through impressive projects, the students celebrated individuals with growth mindsets, highlighting qualities, experiences, and the contagious nature of such thinking. As a class we internalised the belief that mistakes are opportunities for learning. We will embrace challenges with the hope of following in the footsteps of these inspiring role models.
We drew inspiration from famous quotes, cementing their commitment to a growth mindset.
- "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." - Winston Churchill
- "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Edison
- "It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer." - Albert Einstein
- "I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I've been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan
- "It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default." - J.K. Rowling
- "Becoming is better than being." - Carol Dweck
Our first two weeks have ignited a journey of growth, resilience, and inspiration for our class, equipping them to face challenges with enthusiasm and perseverance.
